CTR Steering & Suspension — Range and How to Order

CTR is a steering and suspension brand that Win Auto Parts imports and stocks for the trade. It is the widest steering range we carry at just under 4,000 active part numbers, covering the joints and linkages that wear out on Myanmar roads first: tie rod ends, rack ends, ball joints, control arms, bushes and stabilizer parts. This article covers what the range contains, how to order the right part, and what to check before and after fitting.CTR

What does the CTR range cover?

These are live counts of active CTR part numbers in stock control, not a target:အောက်ပါတို့သည် လက်ရှိ ရှိနေသော CTR ပစ္စည်း အရေအတွက် အမှန် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

Part type Active part numbers
Tie rod ends 794
Stabilizer parts and links 619
Rack ends 551
Control arms and arm assemblies 530
Suspension bushes 455
Ball joints 344

The shape of that range tells you what CTR is for. It is a steering and front-end brand, not a general catalogue — if you are replacing a worn joint or a linkage, CTR is the first place to look. For exhaust, belts or filters, look at the other brands we carry instead.

How do you order the right CTR part?

Steering and suspension parts are position-specific, so a part number alone is often not enough to be safe. Send the make, model and year, the engine where it is known, and above all the position: left or right, front or rear, upper or lower, inner or outer. An inner tie rod and an outer tie rod end are different parts on the same car, and a left and right are not always interchangeable.

If you have the number stamped on the old part, send that too. Our listings carry the OEM reference for the position the part fits, which means you can order from a number read off the component you are replacing. That is more reliable than a catalogue lookup from the registration alone, because it reflects what is actually on the vehicle.

How do you know a joint is worn?

A worn ball joint or tie rod end usually announces itself before it fails. The common signs are a knock over bumps that comes from one corner, vague or wandering steering that needs constant correction, uneven tyre wear on the inner or outer shoulder, and play you can feel when the wheel is rocked by hand with the car raised. A torn rubber boot is the earliest sign of all — once the boot splits, the grease leaves and dirt enters, and the joint is on a short clock from that moment.

Check the boot on every joint you inspect, not only the one being replaced. A split boot on the opposite side usually means that joint will come back as a job within months, and it is cheaper for the customer to do both while the car is already on the lift.

What should be checked when fitting?

Fit to the vehicle manufacturer’s torque figure, using a torque wrench — not by feel. Win Auto Parts does not publish a torque value for these parts, because the correct figure belongs to the vehicle, not to the part, and using a generic number on a steering joint is how a joint comes loose. If you do not have the figure for that model, ask the trade desk before fitting rather than guessing.

Three more things matter on this family of parts. Use a new split pin or castle nut where the design calls for one, and never reuse the old one. Do not strike the boot or grip it in a vice. And set the wheel alignment after any tie rod, rack end or arm is replaced — the alignment is part of the job, not an optional extra, and skipping it will scrub out a new tyre.

Why is a steering part a safety part?

A ball joint or tie rod end is one of the few components where failure separates the wheel from the steering. A worn joint is a handling complaint; a failed one is a loss of control. That is why these parts are replaced on evidence of wear rather than run to destruction, why the boot matters so much, and why the fastening is torqued and pinned rather than nipped up. Treat a customer who reports a knock in the front end as a priority job, not a routine one.

Diagram — where each CTR part sits

Diagram of a front end showing where each CTR part sits: tie rod ends and rack ends on the steering rack, a ball joint at the hub, suspension bushes along the control arm, and stabilizer parts connecting the anti-roll bar. Notes say position is part of the part number and the boot should be checked on every joint.

The drawing shows why position matters when you order. An inner tie rod and an outer tie rod end sit on the same side of the same car and are different parts, and the bushes along the arm are different again from the joints at either end of it. Trace the knock to a position on this layout before you order anything.
