Tie rod ends and rack ends set the steering geometry, so a worn one causes wandering steering and rapid tyre wear. This article covers how to tell which of the two is worn, how to order the correct part, and how to fit it without losing the alignment completely.
Tie rod end နှင့် rack end သည် steering ကို ထိန်းညှိပေးသည်။ ဟောင်းနွမ်းပါက steering လွတ်ပြီး တာယာ မြန်မြန် ပျက်စီးသည်။

1. Which one is worn? — ဘယ်ဟာ ပျက်နေသလဲ
- Raise the front of the vehicle and support it safely.
- Grip the tyre at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions and push and pull. Movement here points to the steering joints.
- Have someone rock the steering while you hold each joint in turn. Play felt at the outer joint is the tie rod end. Play felt where the rod enters the bellows is the rack end.
- Inspect the rubber boot on each. A split boot lets water and grit in, and the joint will fail soon even if it feels tight today.

2. Ordering the correct part — မှန်ကန်စွာ မှာယူခြင်း
Left and right are often different parts, because some vehicles use a left-hand thread on one side. Always tell us which side you need. Send the vehicle make, model and year, and say whether the vehicle is right-hand or left-hand drive.
If you have the old part, send a photograph showing the thread and the stud taper alongside the part number if it is legible.
ဘယ်ဘက်နှင့် ညာဘက် မတူညီနိုင်သောကြောင့် မည်သည့်ဘက်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ပြောပါ။
3. Fitting a tie rod end — တပ်ဆင်ခြင်း
- Count and record. Before loosening anything, count the exposed threads or measure the length from a fixed point. Setting the new part to the same figure gets the toe close, so the vehicle can be driven to the alignment machine.
- Loosen the adjusting sleeve lock nut.
- Separate the taper with a proper ball joint separator or puller. Do not use a pickle fork unless you are discarding the part — it tears the boot. Do not hammer the steering knuckle.
- Unscrew the old end, counting the turns.
- Screw the new end on by the same number of turns.
- Clean the taper seat in the knuckle before fitting. Grease or dirt on a taper stops it seating and the joint will work loose.
- Torque the castle nut to the manufacturer's specification, then continue tightening to align the split pin hole. Never loosen back to line up the hole.
- Fit a new split pin. Tighten the adjusting sleeve lock nut.
- Have the wheel alignment set.
