Four things decide which hose is correct: the working pressure of the system, the fluid being carried, the operating temperature, and the tightest bend the hose has to make in service. Getting any one of them wrong shortens hose life or causes a burst.

Never select a hydraulic hose by size alone
Two hoses of the same inside diameter can have completely different pressure ratings depending on their reinforcement. A single wire braid hose fitted where a wire spiral hose was specified will burst. Always match the pressure rating, not just the bore and the fittings.
