Installation Guide — Step-by-Step

Pre-Installation Checklist  —  တပ်ဆင်မည်မှ မတိုင်မီ စစ်ဆေးရမည့်အချက်များ

• Confirm the WPR part number matches the required diameter, length, and type (2L/3L, flange/no flange)
• Inspect engine mounts and transmission mounts — worn mounts cause excessive engine movement that will damage any flex pipe prematurely
• Check the exhaust hangers — a broken hanger puts stress on the flex connector
• Inspect the exhaust manifold for cracks — replace before fitting the new flex pipe
• Check surrounding heat shields are intact and not contacting the new flex pipe

Installation Procedure  —  တပ်ဆင်ခြင်း လုပ်ငန်းစဉ်

Phase 1 — Prepare & Remove  —  အဆင့် ၁ — ပြင်ဆင်ခြင်းနှင့် ဖြုတ်ချခြင်း

1. Allow exhaust to cool completely. Spray penetrating oil on all clamp bolts, flange nuts, and any corroded fittings. Wait 10–15 minutes.
2. Raise vehicle safely on jack stands. Ensure the vehicle is stable before going underneath.
3. For clamped connections: loosen the exhaust clamps at both ends of the old flex pipe. Slide clamps away from the flex section.
4. For flanged connections: remove all flange nuts. Note the number and size of bolts for reassembly.
5. For welded connections: cut out the old flex pipe using an angle grinder or pipe cutter. Leave clean, square-cut pipe ends. Aim for cuts at least 20mm clear of any welded joints.
6. Remove the old flex pipe. Clean both pipe ends with a wire brush until bare metal is visible.

Phase 2 — Verify Fitment  —  အဆင့် ၂ — အတိုင်းအတာ အတည်ပြုခြင်း

1. Measure the clean pipe ends with a vernier caliper to confirm the correct WPR part size.
2. Dry-fit the new WPR flex pipe without sealant or clamps to confirm it fits correctly. Check alignment — the pipe should sit naturally without forcing.
3. Ensure there is at least 20mm clearance between the flex pipe and any heat shields, chassis components, or wiring.

Phase 3 — Install the WPR Flex Pipe  —  အဆင့် ၃ — WPR Flex Pipe တပ်ဆင်ခြင်း

1. Apply a light coat of exhaust assembly paste to both pipe ends.
2. FOR SLIP-FIT (no flange): Slide the WPR flex pipe onto the pipe ends ensuring equal overlap (minimum 30mm each side). Position exhaust clamps over the overlap zones.
3. FOR BOLT-ON (with flange): Place a new exhaust gasket on the flange face. Align the flex pipe flange with the manifold or downpipe flange. Hand-tighten all bolts evenly.
4. Tighten clamps or bolts progressively in a cross-pattern. Tighten in 3 stages: hand-tight → half torque → full torque.
5. Recommended clamp bolt torque: 25–35 Nm. Flange bolt torque: follow vehicle manufacturer specification (typically 35–50 Nm).

Phase 4 — Post-Installation Test  —  အဆင့် ၄ — တပ်ဆင်ပြီးနောက် စစ်ဆေးခြင်း

1. Lower the vehicle from jack stands.
2. Start the engine and listen carefully for any hissing, blowing, or tapping sounds around the flex pipe connections.
3. With engine at idle, visually inspect all connections for exhaust smoke or visible gas leaks.
4. After the engine reaches full operating temperature, re-check all clamp and bolt tightness — thermal expansion may cause initial loosening.
5. Road test the vehicle. Listen for vibration, rattling, or exhaust smell inside the cabin.
6. After 50km of use, perform a final re-torque of all exhaust connections.
