A bearing carries a rotating load while letting the shaft turn with as little friction as possible. Every wheel hub, gearbox shaft, alternator and water pump on a commercial vehicle runs on bearings. This article explains the bearing types Win Auto Parts stocks and where each one is used.

1. Ball bearings — ဘောလုံး Bearing
Ball bearings use spherical rolling elements. They carry moderate loads at high speed and run with very little friction.
- Deep groove ball bearing — the most common type. Carries radial load and some axial load in both directions. Used in alternators, water pumps, gearbox shafts and idler pulleys.
- Angular contact ball bearing — the raceways are offset, so it carries combined radial and one-direction axial load. Usually fitted in pairs. Used in wheel hubs and steering assemblies.

2. Roller bearings — လုံးတံ Bearing
Roller bearings use cylindrical, tapered or barrel-shaped rolling elements. The contact area is a line rather than a point, so they carry much heavier loads than ball bearings of the same size.
- Cylindrical roller bearing — very high radial load, little or no axial load. Used in gearboxes and heavy transmission shafts.
- Tapered roller bearing — carries heavy radial and axial load together. This is the standard truck and pickup wheel-hub bearing, fitted as an opposed pair.
- Spherical roller bearing — barrel rollers on a curved outer raceway let the bearing tolerate shaft misalignment. Used where the shaft flexes under load, common on heavy commercial axles and industrial drives.
- Needle roller bearing — long thin rollers give high load capacity in a very small outside diameter. Used in gearbox planetary gears, universal joints and clutch releases.

In a repair the choice is normally already made for you: fit the same type the manufacturer fitted. Replace a bearing with the same designation, or with a verified equivalent. Do not substitute a ball bearing for a roller bearing because the dimensions look similar — the load ratings are completely different.
