Part Number & Identification Guide
1️⃣ Why Part Number Identification Is Critical
In hydraulic systems, a part number is not just a product code.
It is a complete technical description that defines:
How the fitting connects
What hose it fits
What pressure it can handle
How it seals
Even a small mistake (wrong pitch, wrong angle, wrong dash size) can cause:
Oil leakage
Hose blow-off
Equipment damage
Serious safety accidents
2️⃣ Core Principle (Golden Rule)
Never write a part number before full identification is complete.
You must first identify:
Hose size
Fitting shape
Thread standard
Thread size
Thread pitch
Sealing method
Hose dash size
If one item is missing → STOP.
3️⃣ Standard Structure of Hydraulic Fitting Part Numbers
Most global manufacturers follow this logic:
[Series Code] – [Thread Size × Pitch] – [Hose Dash Size]
Each part of the code has a technical meaning.
4️⃣ Understanding the Series Code (MOST IMPORTANT)
The series code tells you:
Fitting type
Angle
Sealing method
Example (Common Market Series)
Series Code — Meaning
30712 — Metric cone, straight
30742 — Metric cone, 45°
30792 — Metric cone, 90°
30212 — Metric flat / flange, straight
30242 — Metric flat / flange, 45°
30292 — Metric flat / flange, 90°
👉 If series code is wrong, the whole part number is wrong.
5️⃣ Writing the Technical Specification (Before Part Number)
Always write the technical specification first.
Example Specification
6 × M14 × 1.5 C 90°
Meaning
6 → Hose inner diameter (mm)
M14 → Metric thread, 14 mm
1.5 → Thread pitch (distance between threads)
C → Cone seal
90° → Elbow angle
This specification is independent of brand.
6️⃣ Converting Specification → Vendor Part Number
Step-by-Step Example
Specification:
6 × M14 × 1.5 C 90°
Identify series:
Metric cone
90° elbow
→ Series = 30792
Add thread & hose size:
30792-14×1.5-04
✔ This is the correct vendor-facing part number
7️⃣ Hose Dash Size Mapping (Myanmar Market Critical)
-04
- Hose ID (mm): 6 mm
- Myanmar Usage: ၄ ခွက်
-06
- Hose ID (mm): 8 mm
- Myanmar Usage: ၆ ခွက်
-08
- Hose ID (mm): 12 mm
- Myanmar Usage: ၈ ခွက်
-10
- Hose ID (mm): 16 mm
- Myanmar Usage: ၁၀ ခွက်
-12
- Hose ID (mm): 19 mm
- Myanmar Usage: ၁၂ ခွက်
⚠️ Hose size ≠ Thread size (Never confuse these).
8️⃣ Internal Code vs Vendor Code (IMPORTANT RULE)
Vendor / External Communication
30792-14×1.5-04
✔ Pitch MUST be included
Internal / Store Short Code
30792-14-04
⚠️ Only allowed if pitch is already confirmed and documented
9️⃣ Full Customer Sample Identification SOP
Step 1 – Clean the Sample
Remove oil, dirt, old tape, sealant.
Step 2 – Identify Shape
Straight / 45° / 90°
Myanmar: တည့် / ၄၅ အကွေး / ၉၀ အကွေး
Step 3 – Identify Male / Female
Threads outside → Male
Threads inside → Female
Step 4 – Measure Thread Diameter
Use caliper
Record OD (male) or ID (female)
Step 5 – Measure Thread Pitch
Use pitch gauge
Match exactly (no gap)
Step 6 – Identify Seal Type
Cone
O-ring
Flat face
Taper thread
Step 7 – Identify Hose Size
Measure hose ID
Confirm dash size
Step 8 – Write Specification
Hose × Thread × Pitch + Seal + Angle
Step 9 – Convert to Part Number
Use series code + measured values.
🔟 Real Myanmar Market Examples
“၆ ခွက် M14 ၉၀ အကွေး”
- Correct Interpretation: 6 × M14 × 1.5 C 90°
- Part Number: 30792-14×1.5-04
“၁၀ ခွက် M30 တည့်”
- Correct Interpretation: 16 × M30 × 1.5 Straight
- Part Number: 30212-30×1.5-10
1️⃣1️⃣ Common and Dangerous Mistakes
Writing part number without pitch
Guessing by visual similarity
Mixing BSP and Metric
Using old fitting as reference without measuring
Reusing damaged fittings

၁️⃣ Part Number ကို ဘာကြောင့် မှန်မှန်ရေးရသလဲ
Part Number
Hose ပြတ်မယ်
အန္တရာယ်ဖြစ်နိုင်
၂️⃣ အခြေခံစည်းမျဉ်း (အရေးကြီးဆုံး)
